Blackwood is a stunning Passivhaus home that exemplifies modern design and sustainable living. This project, the result of a close collaboration between architect, designer and client, replaced a tired bungalow in an urban setting, utilising the original footprint while achieving exceptional energy performance.
Our contribution focused on providing and installing high-performance, triple-glazed windows and doors, complemented by concealed external solar blinds. These elements are integral to the home's Passivhaus certification, ensuring high levels of insulation, airtightness, and minimal energy consumption. The result is a beautifully designed, energy-efficient home that seamlessly integrates with its urban surroundings.
Blackwood was recognised for its outstanding design and sustainability, winning the prestigious 'Best Self Build' award in The Daily Telegraph Homebuilding & Renovating Awards 2023.
